Bread & Butter: the risky step belongs in the recipe

Bread & Butter is a demonstration build we made ourselves. It is not a commissioned publication, the recipes and reader quotes are not presented as a real client's performance, and nobody paid for this case.
The brief we set ourselves
A home-cooking publication needs to help someone choose dinner by the time they actually have and then remove the ordinary ambiguity that ruins recipes: inconsistent measures, unclear heat and a decisive step explained too late.
Decisions that shaped the page
- Time is a visual filter. The reader chooses the evening they have before choosing the dish.
- Weights and household measures coexist. Precision is available without excluding the cook who has no scale.
- The failure point is flagged early. Each recipe says where it usually goes wrong before the reader reaches that step.
- The newsletter waits until usefulness is proven. Reading the recipes does not require an account or a popup dismissal.
